About
Who Writes Maple Leaf Casinos
Two people produce this site. Neither of them is a byline invented to fill a page, and neither of them writes anything they have not read the terms for. Here is who does what.
Margo Chartrand, editor
Margo runs the publication and writes most of what appears on the front page and in the bonus list. Fifteen years in consumer finance journalism in Winnipeg before this, mostly covering credit products, which turns out to be excellent preparation for reading gambling promotions.
Her editorial rule is the one the whole site is built on: a bonus is never quoted without its cost, and the cost is always in dollars. She has killed more entries for breaching that rule than for any other reason.
Toby Fenn, terms and numbers
Toby reads the small print so the rest of the site can be short. He maintains the wagering calculations, the game weighting tables and the scoring model described on our ratings, and he is the reason maximum cashout caps are treated as a disqualifier here rather than a footnote.
Background in actuarial work in Hamilton, which he describes as the same job with worse coffee. He is responsible for every dollar figure published on this site, and for correcting them when an operator changes its terms without announcing it, which happens more often than you would expect.
What we do not do
Nobody here claims to have personally deposited at every site listed. The figures published come from the operators' own terms, from licensing and dispute resolution records, and from patterns reported across player accounts and complaint databases. Where a claim cannot be sourced to one of those, it does not get published.
No sponsored posts, no paid reviews, no operator gets to approve copy before it goes live. The funding arrangement is set out plainly on our ratings and in the terms.
Corrections and contact
Terms change constantly and figures go stale. If a wagering requirement, minimum deposit or withdrawal floor published here does not match what a site is currently showing, send it to [email protected] and it will be checked and fixed, with the change noted on the page.
There are no social profiles for either writer and no comment section. Email is the only channel, and both of them read it.
