How We Rank, and How We Get Paid
A rating is only useful if you know what it measures and who paid for it. Both are on this page. The scoring is weighted toward the things that decide whether a small deposit survives the night, and the funding arrangement is described in full at the bottom, in the same plain language as everything else here.
Cost of clearing, 35%
The largest single weighting. Every bonus is converted into dollars of required betting, adjusted for whether the multiple applies to bonus alone or deposit plus bonus, and divided by the bonus value at a C$20 deposit. That gives a cost per bonus dollar.
Under C$25 of betting per bonus dollar scores well. Over C$40 scores badly no matter how large the headline. Offers with maximum cashout caps below C$200 or expiry under seven days score zero on this criterion regardless of the multiple. The full arithmetic is on how a bonus is priced.
Entry cost, 20%
Minimum deposit, minimum bet on the main slot library, and whether the site's qualifying minimum for promotions sits above its own deposit floor. A casino accepting C$10 deposits but restricting every bonus to C$20 and above is scored as a C$20 site, because that is what it functionally is.
Payment methods are assessed here too, specifically whether a small deposit arrives intact or gets shaved by fees.
Getting money out, 20%
Withdrawal minimum first, because it is the barrier most likely to affect a small win. Then processing windows as stated in the operator's published terms, and whether those windows are matched by the pattern reported across player accounts and complaint records. Verification requirements are noted where documents are demanded only at the withdrawal stage rather than at signup, which is a well documented source of delay.
Terms clarity, 15% and licensing, 10%
Terms clarity covers how findable the maximum bet cap is, whether game weighting is published as a table rather than prose, and the presence of open ended clauses allowing an operator to void winnings at its discretion. A site that states its C$5 bet cap on the offer page scores above one that buries it in clause 14.7.
Licensing covers the operator's licence, whether it holds an Ontario licence through iGaming Ontario where relevant, and its record with dispute resolution bodies. This carries the smallest weight because a licence is a floor, not a recommendation.
How this site is funded
Maple Leaf Casinos may be paid a commission when a reader opens an account through a link on this site. That is the entire business model. There is no subscription and no advertising sold separately from those links.
That payment changes nothing about the ranking. Positions on the bonus list are set by the criteria above and the scores are calculated before any commercial arrangement is considered. Operators cannot buy a position, cannot buy a higher score, and cannot have unfavourable findings removed. Sites that pay nothing appear here on identical terms, and sites that pay well are excluded outright when their offers breach the rules described above.
